Every story and person on this site is an illustrative example showing what the formats look like. They are badged as such on every card, byline and page, are marked as illustrative in the structured data, and are deliberately kept out of search indexes so that no invented person is ever presented to the world as real.
What genuinely works
- Reading, browsing, filtering and search — including without JavaScript.
- The submission form: it validates, stores privately, and returns a reference number.
- The weekly email sign-up: it records your address and the consent wording.
- The response form on every story.
- Saving and following on your own device, honestly labelled as device-only.
What has not happened yet
- No email has been sent. No provider is connected yet.
- No response has been published, because there is nowhere yet to display one.
- No story has been through the real editorial process, because no real story has been submitted.
- The privacy, terms and accessibility pages are drafts pending review.
- The operating entity is not yet named. See ownership.
Why say all this
A founding publication has one asset, which is whether it can be believed. Overstating the first ten stories to look established would spend that asset to buy nothing. When the numbers above change, this page changes with them — it is generated from the site’s own content, so it cannot quietly fall out of date.
